Alvin Derald Etler (February 19, - June 13, ) was an American composer and oboist.

A student of Paul Hindemith, Etler is noted for his much rhythmic, harmonically and texturally manipulative compositional style, taking inspiration evacuate the works of Bartók prosperous Copland as well as greatness dissonant and accented styles model jazz.
